COMMON WAYS TO PAY BACK A MARKER
In most cases, the casino issues a marker and win or lose, the player pays that marker back within the period of time agreed to with the casino. There’s no problem and no need for a lawyers help.
Problems arise when a player can’t pay that marker back within the agreed amount of time. In many such cases, the player will first turn to his or her host, who is usually the most accessible casino representative. This might be helpful, but in most cases the host cannot change the outcome of an overdue marker.
Traditionally the casinos have agreed to two types of repayment.
First, the player can agree to a payment plan where the player will make a monthly payment to the casino until that casino marker is, in most cases paid back in full. Note that in most situations the casino will expect the payment play to cover the debt quickly, so these plans are usually for relatively short periods of time.
The second way is for the player can make a lump sum offer to the casino for the full amount of marker or sometimes, if you have the right representation, for less than what is owed.
